Formerly OUCU, we changed our name to OUCU Financial to reflect our growing membership. While we’ve always served those in Southern Ohio, now people who live, work, worship, and go to school in Athens, Hocking, Fairfield, Meigs, Morgan, Perry, Vinton, and Washington counties can join. OUCU was founded in 1955 by former Ohio University Economics Professor Dr. Harry Crewson, who would later become president of the university. Dr. Crewson wanted a financial institution where people could borrow and save at reasonable rates. Through the years, we’ve kept true to the ‘people helping people’ credit union philosophy.
